At Green Solutions China, we are excited to invite Dr. Sophia Xinman Wang (Ph.D.) of Yunnan Artists Association to speak at our next film screening! She will be leading our discussion around harmony with nature and helping us connect our lives with the continued efforts to protect nature and biodiversity.

About The Film/电影简介
In his 93 years, David Attenborough has visited every continent on the globe, exploring the wild places of our planet and documenting the living world in all its variety and wonder. Guest Speaker/特邀嘉宾
Sophia Xinman Wang is an accomplished artist from Yunnan whose artistic career and inspirations have spread from Western impressionist style to her Chinese folk heritage to create eco-friendly focused, participatory art. Her recent work revolves around ecological and environmental connections between humans, animals, nature and the artists’ materials with a focus on reclaimed materials. She has been a part of numerous global and local organizations for art and ecological preservation and is executive director for the 2021 Nature & Art Global Art Competition to support Global Biodiversity.

王馨曼是一位来自云南很有才华的艺术家，她的艺术事业和灵感从西方的印象派拓展到了生态环保和参与式互动艺术。她最近的作品围绕人类，动物，自然，和废旧回收材料的环境生态联系展开。她是很多国际和本土环境艺术和保护组织的一份子，也是2021自然与艺术-保护生物多样性全球艺术大赛执行主任。
Her personal work has expanded beyond traditional painting and sculptures, evolving into pieces that ask questions with found materials and reflective forms. Her most talked about exhibit, “Life & Coexistence Biodiversity Series”, revolve around discussing our relationship with nature through the materials used and depicted in her paintings. She features these materials in the form of natural landscapes and animals to ask ourselves how the materials we use in our lives effects our environment. Her artistic expressions range from paintings to full space installations, public art in the form of interactive and experiential art to connect other to the humanity of nature in various ways. She wants her audience to think more about the hidden parts of nature, not just the obvious colors and images but also the underlying science. She gives her audience a visual examination of the interlaced spatial boundaries of time, the universe, humanity and nature by contrasting the symbols of quantum mechanics formulas with Dongba text.

She will speak at our film screening this month about wild animal conservation, her speech is about how to use art to raise awareness of environmental challenges. Her focus is to give awareness to the current situation and root causes of environmental destruction, and how viewers participate in everyday environmental behavior.

About Green Screening Series
Green Solutions China is a social enterprise located in southwest China that advocates for a sustainable lifestyle, plant-based diet and organic food.
